EMPOWER Work Groups
Each EMPOWER project stakeholder is a member of a workgroup where they co-lead and co-develop projects in support of our mission.
Workgroup 1: Plan of Safe Care
EMPOWER project partners are sharing their personal and professional experiences related to the plan of safe care. They will develop a report to share with health care providers, community members, policy makers, and other stakeholders to improve the experience of families affected by maternal substance use.
Workgroup 2: Improved Access to Naloxone
EMPOWER project partners are developing recommendations for healthcare providers who care for pregnant, delivering, and postpartum patients related to naloxone.
Recommendations will include:
Which members on the healthcare team should discuss naloxone with patients
When/how often the healthcare team should discuss naloxone with patients
How the healthcare team should discuss naloxone with patients
Strategies to ensure access to naloxone is equitable
Workgroup 3: Anti-Stigma
EMPOWER project partners are developing patient and provider facing materials to prevent stigmatizing healthcare for pregnant, delivering, and postpartum patients with/or a history of substance use.
Workgroup 4: Resource Guide
EMPOWER project partners are conducting an environmental scan to identify what resources exist in Hamilton County that can support families affected by substance use. A resource guide will be shared electronically with community members and healthcare providers.
